Bemus Point Fire Department Receives Proclamation

The Bemus Point Volunteer Fire Department was honored with a proclamation from the Chautauqua County Legislature presented by Chairman Pierre Chagnon at the legislature’s meeting Feb. 26 commemorating the Department’s 100 years of dedicated service to the community. The Bemus Point Village Board received a petition to organize a fire department on February 27, 1920. Jeffrey Molnar, first assistant chief, and Steve Hayes, company president, accepted the proclamation on behalf of the fire department.
