For more than a decade, spring and early summer is the time of year the Audubon Community Nature Center has presented its plant exchange and sale, when area residents can bring extra plants to trade for new ones or bring cash to purchase plants.

Audubon staff have put on their creativity hats and found a way to continue this tradition while maintaining social distancing.

Instead of a single-day event, any time from dawn to dusk through Monday, June 1, area residents can drive into the parking area by the Nature Center building to find tables with plants from Audubon Community Nature Center staff, volunteers and gardens outside by the kiosk.

Those participating can trade plants that are potted and labelled for other plants that are potted and labelled, or buy plants outright.

Purchasers are requested to make a minimum donation of $2 for plants they purchase and a donation of their choosing for plants they trade. Sales and trades are on the honor system; donations can be put in the donation box on the kiosk.

Those participating are asked not to bring any invasive plants, and if at all possible, label plants with names.
