The Sugar Grove Ruff Riders at their November meeting was focused on horsemanship skills. Instruction was provided by the club’s president, Katie Downs. Alexia Bowers provided a presentation about helmet safety and how she was saved by wearing a helmet during an equestrian accident. During the month of December, the Ruff Riders took a trip to the Rouse Suites to sing Christmas Carols, perform instrumentals and spent time visiting with the residents. Each member brought a batch of homemade cookies to share with the residents. January was a time for holiday celebration as members prepared snacks and participated in activities planned by Social Chairs Ryleigh Bowers and Ava Nyweide. Alexis Christensen, educated the group on how to create a natural detangle spray to use when grooming horses.
