Volunteers Needed To Pack Food Bags

RANDOLPH — The Cattaraugus County Department of the Aging’s Senior Wellness and Nutrition program is asking the Randolph community to donate an hour or two of their time to Share the Love and Nourish their Neighbors at a blizzard bag packing party at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Randolph Municipal Building, 72 Main St., Randolph.

Volunteers are needed to help pack 600 bags with shelf-stable food. The bags will be distributed to Meals on Wheels recipients throughout Cattaraugus County for use in the event of a weather emergency when Meals on Wheels cannot be delivered. Refreshments will be provided, and participating volunteers will be entered into a drawing to win a $50 Walmart gift card.

For more information, call the Cattaraugus County Department of the Aging at 373-8032.

The event is made possible through the Nourishing Neighbors Grant in partnership with Sysco, by the Subaru Share the Love Grant through Meals on Wheels America, and by a donation from Kellogg’s.

Since 2008, Subaru of America, Inc. and its retailers have helped Meals on Wheels nationwide deliver more than 2.2 million meals to seniors in need. When customers select Meals on Wheels as their charity of choice during the 2019 Subaru Share the Love Event, Cattaraugus County Meals on Wheels will be able to serve even more seniors, mealsonwheelsamerica.org/sharethelove.
