Thule Lodge Holds Annual Barbecue And Corn Roast
FALCONER — The Thule Lodge, which is the Swedish organization of Western New York, recently held its annual chicken barbecue and corn roast at the Falcon’s Nest in Falconer. The meal was catered by the 3-C’s, and featured chicken barbecue, roasted corn, potato salad, rice pudding, pickled beets, cucumbers, bread, cheeses and cake. Following the meal, the business meeting was conducted by lodge Chairman Tom Eckberg. Vice Chairman Susan W. Sipos read the chaplain’s opening invocation. Cultural leader Mary Ann Eva Ingrao gave the blessing prior to the meal, in the Swedish language. Historian John Sipos led all in the pledge of allegiance and read the secretary’s report. Treasurer Loretta Smith welcomed all to the gathering and gave the financial report. The next gathering of the lodge will be on Thursday, Sept. 26, at 7 p.m. at the Falcon’s Nest. New members are always welcome.
