WESTFIELD — The Community Bank N.A. Westfield, New York, branch recently presented Chautauqua Home Rehabilitation & Improvement Corp. with a $2,500 donation to support its homeownership education program, which provides counseling to future homebuyers.

Attendees of the homeownership program receive help with budget management, credit review, and introductions to lenders, Realtors and attorneys. Topics include budgeting for down payment, fair housing, making an offer and life as a homeowner. Classes are offered in English and Spanish and are open to all homebuyers in Chautauqua County.

“We’re thrilled to once again support CHRIC’s homeownership program,” said Carl Swan, Community Bank N.A. vice president and district manager. “Buying a home for the first time is extremely stressful. The support that CHRIC offers helps prepare first-time homebuyers for the buying process. I encourage everyone who is considering buying a home to sign up for a class.”

Founded in 1978, CHRIC has worked to improve Chautauqua County homes, neighborhoods, communities and the lives of its residents for more than 40 years. It has partnered to construct hundreds of units of senior housing; secured millions of dollars in federal, state and private funding to help local residents repair and improve their homes; created lead-safe housing for hundreds of young children; and made homes safe and accessible for seniors and people with disabilities, including our U.S. military veterans.
