Audubon To Host Little Explorers On Sept. 14
Autumn is a time when cold-blooded animals are getting ready for hibernation.
“Snakes and Turtles” is the topic at Audubon Community Nature Center’s Little Explorers on Saturday, Sept. 14, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Parents and the three- to eight-year-old child(ren) in their life can learn what turtles and snakes are doing this time of year and visit with some live ones.
After a lesson inside, the group will head outdoors to see how many of these reptiles are hanging around Audubon. The program includes a snack and, if time and weather allow, a craft. Little Explorers takes place rain or shine, so those attending should be sure to dress for the weather.
The fee for the program is $8 for adults, $6 for Nature Center members and children. Reservations are required by Thursday, Sept. 12, by calling 569-2345 during business hours or going to auduboncnc.org/programs and clicking “Current Schedule.”
Little Explorers is presented on the second Saturday of every month from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at Audubon. Audubon education programs are paid for with support from the Carnahan Jackson Foundation, Jessie Smith Darrah Fund, the Holmberg Foundation, the Hultquist Foundation and the Lenna Foundation.
