Two JCC Staff Members Earn Chancellor’s Award

Two Jamestown Community College staff members were awarded the 2019 State University of New York Chancellor’s Award for Excellence.

Wendy Burns, senior student services assistant, received the Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Classified Service. A JCC staff member since 1993, Burns is a past member of JCC’s planning council and is a current member of JCC’s staff council and placement testing committee.

Prior to joining JCC’s staff, Burns worked in marketing in the Albany area.

She earned a bachelor’s degree at the State University at Fredonia and a master’s degree at the State University at Brockport.

Burns is president-elect of the Zonta Club of Jamestown and is a member of the Jamestown All for One team that supports the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

Crystal Rose-Williams, who joined JCC’s staff 13 years ago, received the Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Professional Service. She serves as the college’s director of academic affairs.

She earned an associate’s degree at JCC, a bachelor’s degree at SUNY Fredonia, and a master’s degree at St. Bonaventure University. She served previously as the registrar at Bryant & Stratton College.

Rose-Williams is a member of several student information, curriculum, and Middle States Commission on Higher Education committees at JCC. She has done presentations on JCC’s faculty load and compensation process at national and state conferences.

Rose-Williams is a member of the Chautauqua Leadership Network, the Western New York Consortium on Higher Education’s Academic Leadership Institute, and Forestville Wesleyan Church.
