Child Advocacy Project To Hold Annual Run Sept. 28

The Child Advocacy Program of Chautauqua County will hold its sixth annual 5K Run/Walk and Kids’ Hero Run around Cassadaga Lake, starting and ending at the beach on Park Street in Cassadaga, on Saturday, Sept. 28.

The Child Advocacy Program’s mission is to end child abuse in Chautauqua County, and when abuse occurs, coordinate a community response.

The Step Up for Kids Run is an awareness event to raise money to support CAP’s counseling and advocacy programs, prevention trainings, forensic interviews and medical evaluations. CAP has two offices, one at 405 W. Third St., Jamestown, and another at 40 E. Main St., Fredonia.

The Step Up For Kids 5K is U.S. ATF certified and sanctioned. It is also part of the Striders Athletic Club 2019 Runner of the Year Series. Timing will be conducted by Trackqua using chip technology. Proceeds support the Child Advocacy Program of Chautauqua County.

To register, visit capjustice.org or call CAP at 338-9844. Race-day registration begins at 9 a.m. with the 5K Run/Walk starting at 10 a.m. There will also be a Kids’ Hero Run at 9:45 a.m.
