Local Church Serves Communion, Welcomes New Members

Pilgrim Memorial and First Congregational United Church of Christ in Jamestown welcomed five new members into its family on June 2.

Carson Hiller, son of Christine Hiller and Mark Hiller, was confirmed by the Rev. Dr. Philip Rohler.

His Sunday school teacher, Pat Hazenberg is also his grandmother.

He was sponsored by another grandmother, Deaconess Georgia Hiller.

Deacon chairperson Donald Nelson presented Carson with a teen Bible.

After the confirmation ceremony, four other people joined the church.

They include Sheryl Marsh, Caralee Corbitt and Gary and Sherry Carnes.

Communion was served followed by a luncheon and cake in the Fellowship Hall.
