JCC, Gannon Update Agreement

Jamestown Community College and Gannon University have updated an articulation agreement that allows JCC graduates to transfer easily into Gannon’s occupational therapy master’s degree program.

The agreement guarantees junior standing for JCC students who graduate with an occupational therapy assistant degree and a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0.

Gannon will accept 52-53 credit hours in transfer from JCC toward fulfillment of its degree requirements. Students who take specified JCC courses can complete a bachelor’s degree in health sciences in four semesters and a master’s degree in occupational therapy in an additional two semesters at Gannon.

The guarantee of acceptance is for at least three qualified JCC students per year who will be selected following completion of their first year of OTA coursework. These students will begin coursework at Gannon in the fall semester following their graduation from JCC.

All other qualified JCC students who are not among the three selected by JCC can formally apply to Gannon, and will be considered for admittance within the usual pool of applicants. Students in this category who apply to and are selected by Gannon, either for the year immediately following graduation from JCC or for any other start year at Gannon, will be afforded the same opportunities to transfer JCC coursework toward meeting Gannon degree requirements.
