BEMUS POINT — The Ellicottville Brewing Company’s recent grand opening celebration fundraiser benefited the Bemus Point Library.

Fifty-six baskets were donated by members of the Bemus Point community. Hundreds of people from the community and beyond came out to participate in the event. Celebrity bartenders Jackie Schenck, Jeanine Zimmer, Lonny Clark and Tom Turner donated their time and tips. Ellicottville Brewing Company also donated $1 for every beer sold that day. Local bands Lakeside Stroll and Dan Vogan donated their time and talent.

A total of $3,210 was raised for the library.

“As a small local library, we depend on the support of our community and we are very grateful to Ellicottville Brewing Company for this successful event,” said Shannon Donovan, library director.

The Bemus Point Library provides books, audiobooks, ebooks, DVDs, an inter-library loan service, newspapers, magazines and a local history collection. It also provides computers for public use, wi-fi and fax services for the community along with a variety of community programming. The library is open Monday, Tuesday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Wednesday from 1 to 5 p.m.; Thursday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The library is a member of the Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Library System.
