The Northern Chautauqua Canine Rescue Dog of the Week is Arthur. He is believed to be a mastiff/shepherd mix who is less than a year old and still has some growing to do. He needs a cat-free home with an owner who can be a strong pack leader for him and he would benefit from some training classes to make him the best he can be. The shelter is located at 7540 N. Gale St., Westfield, and is open from 1 to 3 p.m. Monday through Saturday or by appointment by calling 326-PAWS. Many of the dogs can be seen online at www.caninerescue.org; there is a video of Arthur on his page. The shelter will host its monthly open house today from 1 to 3 p.m.
