4-H Fashion Revue Held In Clymer

4-H volunteer Nancy Johnson presented the Martha Carlson award to Jared Dorman, Adam Lesch and Sam Comstock at the annual 4-H Fashion Revue.

CLYMER — Cornell Cooperative Extension of Chautauqua County’s 4-H Youth Development Program held its annual 4-H Fashion Revue recently at Abbe Reformed Church in Clymer.

The Clymer Eager Beavers 4-H club hosted the event. The musician for the evening was Sandy Westley. Photographer for the event was Rebecca Sprague, parent and volunteer in the Stow-A-Way Kids 4-H club. This year’s theme was “4-Her’s Spring into Fashion.” 4-H members were evaluated on sewing as well as their modeling ability.

First year sewers receiving special awards were Liliana Neal, Dakotah Martin, Emerson McAllister and Haiden Deane.

Outstanding sewing awards were given to Everett LeBarron, Adam Lesch, Garrett Lesch, Liliana Neal, Katie King, Maggie King, Luisa Smith, Kaylee Hodge, Rachel Comstock, Sam Comstock, Mackenzy Graziano, Jared Dorman, Mikail Lawrence, Natalie Turecek and Amelia Sprague.

The Martha Carlson Memorial Award, sponsored by Ethan and Nancy Johnson, is given to any male sewer who has participated in the sewing project for over 3 years and has shown continual improvement in their sewing skills. The award was presented to Adam Lesch, Jared Dorman and Sam Comstock.

New this year was an award sponsored by the Sprague Family in honor of Opal Sprague. It was given to a sewer who has participated in the sewing project for more than six years, challenged herself with a very difficult project and shows her dedication to sewing each year. The award was presented to Mackenzy Graziano from the Country Critters 4H Club.

The Western District Fashion Revue was be hosted by Cattaraugus County at the Nannen Arboretum and CCE Cattaraugus County. The following youth were chosen to attend that event: Rachel Comstock, Jared Dorman, MacKenzy Graziano, Kaylee Hodge, Katie King, Maggie King, Mikail Lawrence, Adam Lesch, Garrett Lesch, Luisa Smith, Amelia Sprague and Tessa Warner.

Three 4-H members were chosen to participate at the State Fair Fashion Revue in the Youth Building on the state fair grounds in Syracuse in August: Jared Dorman, Mackenzy Graziano and Maggie King.

Commentators for the evening were Jared Dorman, Stockton Panthers; Rachel Comstock Country Critters; Kaylee Hodge, Clymer Eager Beavers; Garrett Lesch, Canadaway; and Amelia Sprague Stow-A-Way Kids.

Arrangements were made by the county 4-H Clothing and Textile Committee,, which includes Debbie Caruso, Joyce Edwards, Suzanne Harper, Janet Heslink, Nancy Johnson, Laurie Short and Opal Sprague, and Linda TeCroney. Judges for the evening were Joyce Edwards, Janet Heslink and Linda TeCroney. Debbie Caruso served as the master of ceremonies.
