United Arts Appeal Announces 2019 Grant Recipients

A grant from the United Arts Appeal of Chautauqua County's Projects Pool Grants Program will help support the 2019 Summer Concert Series on Cassadaga Lake. The performances by local musicians on the floating stage, usually on Sunday evenings, are free to the public.

In addition to providing operating support for seven of the county’s larger arts organizations, the United Arts Appeal of Chautauqua County also awards grants to individual artists and nonprofit organizations for artistic projects.

Eight organizations are receiving support for their projects through the UAA’s Projects Pool Grants Program.

“We truly have an abundance of top-quality artistic performances and opportunities here in this place we call home. The board of the United Arts Appeal is both proud and humbled to be able to undergird these activities and help unify Chautauqua County through the arts,” said Julie Newell, United Arts Appeal president.

Recipients of the United Arts Appeal 2019 Projects Pool grants are:

¯ Audubon Community Nature Center: Fairy Festival Cut-Outs;

¯ Citizens for a Better Cassadaga: Summer Concert Series on Cassadaga Lake;

¯ E2CCB Educational Foundation: Fredonia Mini Maker Faire;

¯ Great Lakes FX: Fur, Fish, and Feathers;

¯ Jamestown Parks, Recreation and Conservation Dept.: 2019 Summer Bandshell Concert Series;

¯ Patterson Library: Music Together with Kay Barlow;

To be eligible for grants, organizations must have non-profit status. Individuals are to have been Chautauqua County residents for at least one year and can work in any artistic discipline.

After being screened for eligibility and fulfillment of requirements, applications are reviewed by an advisory panel made up of artists and community leaders. Their recommendations are then reviewed for approval by the United Arts Appeal board.

The United Arts Appeal is supported by Chautauqua County, local foundations, corporations, businesses and individuals throughout the county. For more information about the UAA, including performances offered by member organizations, visit UnitedArtsAppeal.org.
