The Northern Chautauqua Canine Rescue Dog of the Week is Olive, a Chihuahua mix who was adopted a year ago but never meshed with the household dog. She’s a little scared being back at the shelter so will need some patience for those coming to see her; her adopted mom said she loved to go on walks or sit on someone’s lap and cuddle all day long. She was a pretty quiet girl who was housebroken and her people loved her, but just not the house dog. The shelter is located at 7540 N. Gale St., Westfield, and is open from 1 to 3 p.m. Monday through Saturday or by appointment by calling 326-7297. Many of the available dogs and pups can be seen online at www.caninerescue.org. Discounted registration is ongoing through May 25 for the sixth annual Putts For Mutts Golf Tournament being held June 1 at Pinehurst Golf Club.
