Libertarian Party Holds Fifth Annual Convention

The Chautauqua County Libertarian Party recently held its fifth annual convention at EBC West in Fredonia.

Andrew Martin Kolstee, party chairman, called the convention to order and introduced Larry Sharpe, the Libertarian Party’s 2018 candidate for governor.

Sharpe spoke on the continued momentum of the Libertarian Party of New York and the party’s future plans.

He then introduced Gerrit Cain, secretary of the Chautauqua County Libertarian Party, who is running for Chautauqua County Legislature District 16.

This was followed by business along with presentations from numerous other candidates seeking the party’s endorsement.

The business portion included bylaws amendments and the election of officers for 2019-20: Andrew Martin Kolstee as chair and treasurer, Len Morlock as vice chair, and Gerrit Cain as secretary. Cain was unanimously endorsed as the Libertarian Party candidate for Chautauqua County Legislature District 16.

The district contains the towns of Poland, Carroll, and Kiantone.

Additionally, three attendees enrolled as members of the Libertarian Party.

The Chautauqua County Libertarian Party is a chapter of the Libertarian Party of New York.
