North Harmony Senior Citizens Inc. To Meet
NORTH HARMONY — The March 18 monthly dinner meeting of the North Harmony Senior Citizens Inc. was held at the Senior Center.
Gordon Saulsgiver gave the opening prayer. Forty-six members and guests were present. For the second time in the last year, the menu was soup and a sandwich. There were a variety of cold and hot sandwiches and 12 varieties of soup.
Hosts for this dinner gathering were Karen Brooks, Laurie and Henry Magnuson, Casey Foster, Bonnie Johnson, and Penney Rossey, who provided the birthday cake. The audience gave them a thank you and round of applause.
Birthdays were noted for March and were celebrated by Hal Wiggers, Chuck Ellis, Juanita Holthouse, Adrian Madden, Norm Czubaj (absent) and Art Palmer.
Prepared monthly minutes were presented by Donna Wiggers, assistant secretary. After motions made by Adrian Smith and Pat Saulsgiver, they were approved.
Anita Ferry, treasurer, presented the financials for February. After motions made by Paul Hothouse and Hal Wiggers, they were approved.
President Ferry addressed the members about the change of officers in January 2020. It was noted that the present people served six years in these positions and indicated that it would be time for a new slate. The nominating committee of present officers had approached various club members to assume the offices of president, secretary, treasurer, first and third presidents. These positions would need to be reviewed again later in the year. Any other members, interested, could express their desire to be candidates.
Pat Saulsgiver announced that the annual auction of valuable collections would be held at the April meeting. Everyone was encouraged to bring the valuables.
Helen Johnson reported on upcoming trips. Information is placed on the bulletin board.
Under new business, Adrian Smith and Bonnie Johnson inquired if it would be possible to have a regular salad bar and chicken salads for summer future dinners.
The club treasury gained a deposit of $25. Doug Ireland and Earl Ferry split the other half.
Gordon Saulsgiver led the group in a closing prayer.
The next dinner meeting will be held on Monday, April 15, at the club center.
