Vietnam Vets To Be Honored This Week

As a federal commemorative partner for the United States of America Vietnam War Commemoration, VA Western New York Healthcare System will facilitate three Vietnam War Veterans Day ceremonies.

Vietnam Era Veterans are encouraged to attend these ceremonies to receive commemorative Vietnam lapel pins, Presidential proclamations and long overdue thanks from the American people. Many veterans are still unaware of benefits they have earned, so information about VA health care enrollment and other veterans benefits to include disability claims, educational opportunities and National Cemeteries will be available.

The first recognition ceremony will be held on Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. at VA’s Community Based Outpatient Clinic, 166 E. Fourth St., Dunkirk. The second ceremony will be conducted on Friday at 9 a.m. at VA’s CBOC, 608 W. Third St., Jamestown. Lastly, the Allegany American Legion Post 892 will host the third Vietnam Era Veteran recognition event, also Friday at 1 p.m. American Legion Post 892 is located just off 4350 Route 417, in Knapp Creek.
