A benefit for Josh and Beck Gruber is being held Saturday, Aug. 18, at the Dewittville/Hartfield United Methodist Church, 5446 E. Lake Road, Dewittville, from 3:30-6:30 p.m. to help cover expenses associated with the hospital stay and surgeries for their daughter Adelaide Mae Gruber. The benefit will include a spaghetti dinner, basket auction, bake sale and 50/50 drawing.

Addie was born April 17, 2018, with congenital heart disease and heterotaxy syndrome and was immediately taken to Boston Children’s Hospital where she had to have several open heart surgeries in the first month of her life. She was unable to recover from her last surgery and on June 1, Addie said goodbye to her friends and family here on Earth. Addie spent her entire life of 46 days in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at Boston Children’s Hospital. The hospital and surgery expenses plus the expense of traveling from home to Boston have left Josh and Becky with an overwhelming amount of bills.

Those unable to attend the benefit and wish to make a monetary donation can send a check, made payable to Josh Gruber, to Dewittville/Hartfield United Methodist Church, PO Box 416, Dewittville, New York 14728.
