Harmony Seniors To Meet Aug. 2

The Harmony Senior Citizens met on July 5 at the North Harmony Senior Center. A delicious chicken barbeque prepared by Sally Hagg was enjoyed by all 46 members and guests present. President Beverly Smith welcomed everyone. Chaplain Lois King read a poem, offered the dinner prayer and led the flag salute.

Birthdays were celebrated by Bonny Abers, Bonnie Anderson, Chester Stratton and Judy Handkammer, eldest member present. Skip and Pauline Edsall celebrated an anniversary.

Secretary and treasurer’s reports were read and approved. Members were reminded to purchase tickets to the Office for the Aging Senior Picnic to be held at Midway Park on Aug. 10. The United Senior Council dinner is scheduled for Aug. 22. Tickets are required for both events.

The slate of officers for the coming year was presented and nominations will be accepted from the floor at the August meeting, with officers being installed in September.

Following the meeting, Michael Schifano, owner of Pharmacy Innovations ,resented a short program on the services and products available at the pharmacy.

Entertainment was provide by Pat Cook from Mayville. She presented a very entertaining tribute to Patsy Cline, which was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.

The next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 2, at 5 p.m. at the North Harmony Senior Center in Stow. Committee members include Cindy McIntyre, Mary Lou Garfield. Sally Hagg and Bill Sweeney. Members are asked to bring their own table service and a dish to pass. New members are always welcome.
