The Northern Chautauqua Canine Rescue Dog of the Week is Louie, a unique-looking dog who is guessed to be a shar-pei/beagle mix with a wrinkly forehead and beagle markings. He is a little shy at first, but he warms up if someone sits with him and pets him. He seems to play well with other dogs his size. The shelter is located at 7540 N. Gale St., Westfield, and is open from 1-3 p.m. Monday through Saturday or by appointment by calling 326-7297. The website is caninerescue.org. The sixth annual Doggone Good Yard Sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the shelter. There are books, jewelry, art, furniture, antiques, holiday items, sporting goods, outdoor items, kitchen goods and other items.
