Two Students Awarded Office Scholarships

CASSADAGA — The annual Spring Bosses’ Night and Dinner Meeting of the Chautauqua County Association of Educational Office Professionals was held recently at the Cassadaga Legion in Cassadaga, hosted by members from the Cassadaga Valley Central School with 65 members, bosses, administrators and other guests attending.

Each year, the association awards an annual scholarship to a deserving student enrolled in one of the Chautauqua County Schools, as well as awarding an “Inspirational Scholarship” to a deserving student with special needs. The recipient of the annual scholarship was Ciara Carlson-Healy, a senior at Fredonia Central School, and the recipient of the Inspirational Scholarship was Rashmika VanRensselaer, a senior at Westfield Academy and Central School.

Also at the annual spring dinner meeting, to show appreciation to the people for whom association members work, administrators are recognized and thanked. In addition, an Office Professional of Year award is given. The 2018 recipient is Linda McGuinn, a middle-high School guidance secretary at Westfield Academy and Central School.

Membership into CCAEOP is open to school office employees who are engaged in clerical, accounting or secretarial work in any of the county educational systems.
