Chautauqua Progressive Action Hosts Dems

Judy Einach, candidate for New York State Assembly, and Ian Golden, Democratic Party candidate for the 23rd Congressional District, were guests at the April meeting of Chautauqua Progressive Action.

Meeting candidates is a regular feature at the group’s monthly meetings. Golden is one of five Democrats running in the June 26 primary to determine who will face incumbent Tom Reed in November. Einach is the Democrat who will challenge incumbent Assemblyman Andy Goodell, R-Jamestown, on the ballot.

The group also collected donations for Begin Again Kits, a project serving Chautauqua and Cattaraugus counties by assembling household kits for women starting over after escaping domestic violence.

Chautauqua Progressive Action will host a fundraiser in lieu of its regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, May 23, from 5-7 p.m. at the Brazil Craft Beer and Wine Lounge for the NY23rd Congressional District Nominee Fund. This is an Act Blue escrow account which will go to the winner of the Democratic congressional primary. The suggested donation is $23, which can be at the door or in advance online; those donating in advance can print and show their receipt.

Group members will also be assisting with voter registration tables at the Winged Ox Players production of “It Can’t Happen Here” at the Willow Bay Theater on May 11, 12, 18 and 19.
