Miller-Williams To Visit Fredonia Monday

FREDONIA — Erie County Legislator Barbara Miller-Williams will visit the State University at Fredonia on Monday to offer a lecture on women in politics.

The lecture is slated from 1-2 p.m. in Williams Center Room S204.

Williams will offer tips on how to become civically engaged and provide insight on both her experiences as a politician and her years of service to the community.

Some of Williams’ credentials include her current position as District 1 Erie County Legislator, her journey in becoming the first African-American woman to serve as chairperson of the Erie County Legislature, her experience as Buffalo Common Council Ellicott District council member, her service as a master sergeant/equal opportunity advisor in the U.S. Army Reserve and her experience as a Buffalo police officer.

Admission to the lecture is free. The program is organized as part of the American Democracy Project of the American Association of State Colleges and Universities, and supported through the university’s Division of Engagement and Economic Development.
