JCC Earns Distinction

Jamestown Community College has earned the 2018-19 Military Friendly School designation.

Institutions earning the Military Friendly School designation were evaluated using public data sources and proprietary survey responses. Student survey data was also taken into consideration. More than 1,400 schools participated in the 2018-2019 survey with 941 earning the designation.

The 2018-19 Military Friendly Schools list will be published in the May issue of G.I. Jobs magazine and can be found at militaryfriendly.com.

Methodology, criteria, and weightings were determined by Victory Media with input from the Military Friendly Advisory Council. Final ratings were determined by combining the institution’s survey scores with the assessment of the institution’s ability to meet thresholds for student retention, graduation, job placement, loan repayment, and loan default rates for all students and, specifically, for student veterans.

JCC offers a variety of resources for student veterans at its Jamestown and Cattaraugus County campuses as well as its North County Center in Dunkirk. The resources, outlined at www.sunyjcc.edu/student-life/student-services/veterans, are designed to enhance the success of students.
