JBC Hosts Hispanic Heritage-Themed Lunch
In honor of National Hispanic Heritage Month, Jamestown Business College hosted a lunch recently with special guest David Gonzalez. The lunch was attended by staff, faculty and JBC bilingual students. Gonzalez, a poet, artist and musician, spoke of his passion to build “community” within the Latino population and how the bilingual program at JBC is a wise and efficient channel to guide students toward this community. Brenda Salemme, JBC admissions director, said she was pleased with how the lunch went. “It was a pleasure to have David Gonzalez visit the college and share his work,” she said. “Mr. Gonzalez performed several poems for us. It was very moving to hear about his journey.”
