Chautauqua County campground owners Jessica and Mickey Spak of the Hidden Valley Camping Area in Jamestown recently held a check presentation ceremony at their park to celebrate a fundraising event for Camp Good Days and Special Times.

James McCauley, director of community initiatives for Camp Good Days, was on hand for the ceremony, as the Spaks announced their park had raised $9,286 in donations.

Campers contributed $4,643 to the park’s annual brown bag auction, and the Spak family honored their pledge to match all funds dollar-for-dollar, raising the total take to $9,286.

“We were honored to donate to Camp Good Days on behalf of Hidden Valley Camping Area and our campers this year,” said Jessica Spak. “We’re so thankful to have so many caring and goodhearted campers contributing to such an amazing cause and a wonderful organization dedicated to improving the lives of children, adults, and families whose lives have been touched by cancer and sickle cell anemia.”

Jessica and Mickey Spak paid special tribute to seasonal campers Jamie Young and Todd Rarey, thanking them for encouraging campers to bid high and often during the auction.

“Jamie and Todd led the way through their auction bids and purchases, and their generous donations certainly inspired others to give to this fantastic cause,” said Jessica Spak. “Because of their efforts, this year’s auction raised a record amount for Camp Good Days.”
