Jamestown YMCA Offering Lifeguard Class

The Jamestown YMCA is offering an American Red Cross waterfront lifeguard class starting June 2. Upon successful completion of the class students will be certified in ARC Waterfront Lifeguarding, CPR-Pro, AED and first aid. The Y’s class will begin on Friday June 2, from 5 to 8 p.m. and continue June 3, 4, 10 and 11 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Each class consists of classroom and water skills each day. Candidates must pass the pre-test (given June 2) to continue in the class, be 15 by the last day of class, attend all classes and complete all skills proficiently and pass (80%) written tests. Potential students can register online at www.jamestownymca.org or in-person at either Jamestown or Lakewood welcome centers up till the start of class. For more information, email Jason Chinni at jchinni@jamestownymca.org or Maria Roehmholdt at maria@jamestownymca.org.

Watts Flats UMC Concert To Be Held June 4

Watts Flats United Methodist Church, 866 Blockville-Watts Flats Road, Ashville, will be hosting a music event June 4 with guests Joyce Igo and Steven Nichols who will perform live music and worship fellowship for the community. All are welcome to attend. A tureen dinner will be at 5 p.m. with music to follow at 6 p.m.
