Discussing Taxing District Scheduled For Saturday

BEMUS POINT — A meeting to discuss a possible taxing district surrounding Chautauqua Lake will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Lawson Center in Bemus Point. A similar meeting was held in August hosted by the Town of Ellery. The meeting will include an overview of what has been learned about Chautauqua Lake Protection and Rehabilitation Agency activities over the past few months and what may transpire at the agency’s January meeting.

AOC To Hike

The Allegheny Outdoor Club will hike the Tanbark Trail to Toms Run and then return by way of the Ironwood Trail on Sunday. The hike will be about four miles. The group will meet at the parking lot on the corner of Musante Street and Pleasant Drive at 1:30 p.m. or the parking lot at Dunham Siding at 2 p.m.

Commission To Meet On Jan. 17

Ripley School Board To Meet Jan. 18

RIPLEY — The Ripley Central School Board will meet at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 18, in the elementary library at Ripley Central School. The public is welcome to attend.

Blood Drive

On Jan. 20

The Community Blood Bank will host a blood drive from noon to 5 p.m. Jan. 20 at UPMC Chautauqua, 207 Foote Ave. Call 814-456-4206 to schedule an appointment to donate. Appointments are encouraged to reduce wait times but are not required. Walk-ins will be taken as space allows. Community Blood Bank partners with hospitals in Northwest Pennsylvania and Western New York to provide blood for patients in need. Those who are at least 17 years of age, weigh a minimum of 110 pounds and are in good general health may be eligible to donate blood. Donors must have a valid photo ID in order to donate. Prior to donating, those giving blood should eat a good, solid meal and drink at least 18 ounces of water.

Chaut. County IDA Board To Meet On Jan. 24

The Chautauqua County IDA board will meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 24, in the second floor board room in the BWB Building, 201 W. Third St., Jamestown. The public is welcome to attend. The meeting will also be livestreamed on YouTube and Zoom.
