Library To Host Christmas Card Class

FREWSBURG — The Myers Memorial Library in Frewsburg is having a Christmas card making class for adults and teens on Saturday at 11 a.m. The session will include making four different stamped card designs and learning new techniques. The cost of the class is $5 to cover materials. Registration is required by calling the library at 716-569-5515.

Christmas Dinner Meeting Planned

SINCLAIRVILLE — The Valley Historical Society will meet on Tuesday at 6 p.m. at the Sinclairville Fire Hall for its annual Christmas dinner meeting. Attendees are asked to bring a dish of food to pass as well as their own table service and drink. The group will have dinner together and discuss the year in local history. Officers for 2023 will also be elected. Anyone is welcome to join the group for the meeting. This will be the final meeting of the year, with the next meeting to be in April.

Holiday Open House Set

FREDONIA — The Barn 3521 in Fredonia is having its third annual Holiday Open House from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4. Enjoy an eclectic selection of antiques and merchandise for home decorating or gift giving. Homemade cookies and live music round out the day.

United Senior Council Meets Dec. 8

The United Senior Council of Chautauqua County will meet from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 8, at the Celoron Community Building. After a short business meeting, the group will enjoy a Christmas buffet. Ham, meatballs and beverages will be provided. Those attending are asked to bring their own table service, a dish to pass and a serving spoon. All seniors in Chautauqua County are welcome to attend the meetings. The council will not meet in January 2023 or February 2023.

Wendy Bale Leading 2-Hour Workshop At Lakewood

LAKEWOOD — Paper artist Wendy Bale will lead a two-hour workshop at the Lakewood Memorial Library on Saturday, Dec. 17, showing how to make paper leaves out of vellum and mulberry papers. The project requires no special drawing skills and is suitable for all skill levels. The group will use an embossing tool to sculpt the paper into a life-like leaf that, unlike a dried real leaf, will last for years. All materials will be provided. This class will include a step-by-step guide and templates including a variety of leaves. In this holiday edition of Bale’s workshop she also includes holly leaves. The free workshop was made possible through grant funding from the Cullen Foundation for the Arts. Registration Register by emailing programs@lakewoodlibrary.org or calling 716-763-6234.
