Museum Ready To Reopen

SINCLAIRVILLE — The Valley Historical Society Museum in Sinclairville at Main and Lester Streets will open to the public on Sunday for the first time since September of 2019. The museum will be open from 2 to 5 p.m. and there is no charge for admission. President of the society, Larry Barmore, will be on hand to answer any questions you may have on the museum collection or local history in general. The museum will be closed the following Sunday because of Memorial Day but will be open every non holiday Sunday through September.

Bridge Work Planned On Rte 322

VILLENOVA –The New York State Department of Transportation is advising motorists that beginning at 7 a.m. Monday, May 23, the state Route 322 Bridge over Conewango Creek will be closed to traffic as the rehabilitation of the bridge gets underway. Motorists will be directed to follow a posted detour along South Dayton Silver Creek Road (County Road 93), Buttermilk Road (County Road 91), Hooker Road and Balcom Cross Road (County Road 87).

This work is expected to last for approximately five months. All construction activities at this location are weather dependent and subject to change.

Motorists are urged to slow down and drive responsibly in work zones. Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. Convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.

Falconer Library Board To Meet

FALCONER — The Falconer Public Library board will meet at the library, 101 W. Main St., Falconer, on Thursday, May 26, at 8 a.m. The public is welcome to attend.

Villenova Group Planning Bake Sale

VILLENOVA –Following a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Villenova Burial Association will be holding its fifth Annual “Love Remembered” Bake Sale in the entryway of the South Dayton Supermarket on Saturday, May 28 beginning at 9 a.m.. There will be dozens of homemade goodies consisting of pies, bread, cookies, candy, cupcakes, cakes. There will also be a donation box.

The fundraiser theme is a symbol of remembering those held close in our hearts during this long weekend of remembrance! All proceeds will help defray the maintenance and operating costs of the Villenova Cemetery. The event also offers an opportunity for members of the community to learn about the Association and how they might help in efforts to maintain and preserve the over 200-year-old cemetery.

Randolph School Board To Meet June 1

RANDOLPH — The Randolph Central School Board will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 1, in the high school library.
