Museum Open To Public Again

SINCLAIRVILLE — The Valley Historical Society Museum in Sinclairville at Main and Lester streets will open to the public on Sunday for the first time since September 2019. The museum will be open from 2 to 5 p.m. and there is no charge for admission. Larry Barmore, society president, will be on hand to answer any questions about the museum collection or local history in general. The museum will be closed the following Sunday because of Memorial Day but will be open every non-holiday Sunday through September.

Meeting Set For Tuesday At 7 p.m.

The monthly meeting of the Southern Tier TEA Party Patriots will be held on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at 1309 Norby Road. Those attending will hear about a strategy to reach local representatives more effectively. Also people will be informed about a Biden initiative to hand over more power to the World Health Organization over health care choices. Roy Harvey will give an update on climate change. There will be a preview of a Daily Wire movie/documentary by Matt Walsh coming out in June called, ‘What is a Woman?’Call 569-6610 for more information.

Memorial Day Parade Set

CASSADAGA — The Cassadaga American Legion will participate in several Memorial day activities in 2022. The Legion Honor Guard will perform military honors at the Gerry Cemetery on Sunday, May 29, at 2 p.m. On Memorial Day Monday, May 30, legion members will travel to 12 cemeteries starting at 7 a.m. and perform military honors at each site. A Memorial Day parade will take place in Cassadaga at 11 a.m. followed by a Memorial Day program at the Cassadaga cemetery. Any units wishing to participate in the Cassadaga Parade may contact Sally at 716-595-3713.

Jamestown Memorial Day Parade Set

The Veterans Council of Jamestown said the 2022 Memorial Day Parade will take place May 30 in Jamestown. Participants for the parade are being sought, and individuals and organizations are encouraged to take part by contacting Kimberly Ecklund at 716-664-0405 or kimberlyecklund@yahoo.com or by registering at forms.gle/7A8ca1VcYMBcoxo68. Memorial Day honors the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military. Parade lineup will begin at 9 a.m. on Fourth Street beginning at Washington Street. The parade will step off promptly at 10 a.m. and will travel down Fourth Street to Prendergast Avenue and continue to Buffalo Street and into Lake View Cemetery where a brief ceremony will occur.

Annual Service Planned At Cemetery

The Allen Cemetery Association will hold its annual observance of Memorial Day at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Allen Cemetery on Willard Street Extension. Memorial Day is a day not of celebration but a day to reflect on all service members who have lost their lives while serving and protecting the country. The speaker will be the Rev. Ron Lemon. The public is welcome to attend. Refreshments will be served after the program.
