Quick Work Made Of Stove Fire

FREDONIA — A stove fire was quickly extinguished Wednesday night in the village of Fredonia. Fire Department officials noted on their Facebook page they responded to an alarm at One Temple Square around 8:15 p.m. Upon arrival, building maintenance reported a possible electrical fire on the ground floor. Firefighters entered and found smoke in the south side hallway. A stove fire was located in one of the apartments. The fire was extinguished and fans were used to ventilate the smoke. Firefighters were at the scene for about an hour.

Committees Meet Tues. March 8

Two Jamestown Community College Board of Trustees committees will meet Tuesday. The Cattaraugus County Campus Ad Hoc Revitalization Committee will meet at 3 p.m. and the Educational Services Committee will meet at 4 p.m.  Both meetings will be held via Zoom webinar technology. Chaut. County Board Of Health Meeting On Thurs. March 17

MAYVILLE — The Chautauqua County Board of Health will meet at 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 17, in the HRC Building, B-14, basement level conference room, 7 N. Erie St., Mayville. Comments received from the public will be accepted as communications and not read during the privilege of the floor. Public comments at the meetings during the privilege of the floor must be made in person. Pancake And Waffle Breakfast Sat. March 26

FALCONER — The Falconer Rotary Club will hold its semi-annual pancake and waffle breakfast from 7:30-10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 26, at the Falcon’s Nest, 2001 E. Main St., Falconer. The tickets are $9 for adults and $5 for children 5 years old and under and are available at the door or from any Falconer Rotary Club member. The club is also holding a returnable can and bottle drive to help fund community projects and will be accepting them during the event.

Book Sale March 25-26

KENNEDY — The Kennedy Free Library will host a book sale March 25-26 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. There will be thousands of books to choose from as well as DVDs, puzzles and magazines.

Pre-Licensing Driving Course Thurs. March 24

FREWSBURG — A five-hour pre-licensing driving course will be offered at Frewsburg High School from 5-10 p.m. Thursday, March 24. The cost is $25. Preregister by emailing rhair@frewsburgcsd.org or calling 716-569-7026 between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. Have permit on hand when calling.
