Marvin House Offers Take-Out

The Marvin House in Jamestown is offering take-out meals Thursday between 3-4 p.m. that will include Italian tossed salad, bread, traditional homemade lasagna and homemade cannoli.. Meals will be available between 3-4 p.m. Reservations can be made by sending an email to marvinhouse@netsync.net or calling 488-6206. The cost is $17 for members and $20 for non-members.

Antique Car Club To Meet Again

The Antique Car Club will resume their monthly meetings on Wednesday, June 16, at 6:30 p.m. at the War Vets Recreation Club on Fluvanna Avenue. Those attending don’t need to own a car to become a member. For more information, call Greg at 287-3754.

Chaut. County Genealogical Meeting Is Wed.

CASSADAGA–The Chautauqua County Genealogical Society will meet Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at the Cassadaga American Legion Hall on Maple Avenue. The guest speaker will be genealogist Norman Carlson on the topic “The Genetics Beneath Genealogy — Why You Are Not Related To Most Of Your Own Relatives.” COVID restrictions are still in place with mask wearing and social distancing. All are welcome, and the meeting is open to the public.

Water Pump Problem Results In Discoloration

A problem with a pump at the Jamestown Board of Public Utilities’ water pump station on Buffalo Street in the city resulted in widespread discolored water in BPU water territory. The water may take 12 to 24 hours to clear. Avoid doing laundry until the water appears clear, the BPU said.

Bemus Point School Board Meets Thurs.

The Bemus Point Central School Board of Education will meet Thursday in the STEAM Room at Maple Grove High School, Dutch Hollow Road, Bemus Point. Anyone attending is asked to enter through the gym entrance. The board is expected to move for an executive session at 5:30 p.m. and then have its regular meeting starting at 6 p.m.

Zoning Board Appeals Vacancy

A vacancy exists on the North Harmony Zoning Board of Appeals. Letters of interest from qualified individuals will be accepted by Robert Yates, town supervisor, either in-person at the town offices, 5350 Stow Road, or by mail/email: Town of North Harmony P.O. Box 167, Stow, NY 14785 or to supervisor@townofnorthharmony.com. Applications are due no later than 3:30 p.m. Friday, July 9.

East Otto Museum To Open

The East Otto Historical Museum will be open from 1 to 3 p.m. Sundays in July and August. The museum is located next to the East Otto Fire Hall, 8982 Reed Hill Road, East Otto. Items in the museum tells the story of people and businesses that once were a part of East Otto. They include pictures of people and houses, small farm tools, in the kitchen and old obituary clippings and much more. The museum is housed in one of the oldest buildings in town, originally built in 1834 as a Baptist church.
