Parks Panel To Hold Meeting

The Chautauqua County Parks Commission will hold its monthly meeting via Zoom on Thursday at 4 p.m. The meeting will be live streamed on the Chautauqua County Government Facebook page. To be included in the meeting, email judithhunt1@aolcom for the link.

Randolph Issues Boil Water Notice

RANDOLPH — The town of Randolph has issued a boil water notice for all water district customers with an account number beginning with a 2 or a 3. Customers are asked to bring tap water to a rolling boil, boil one minute and cool before using, or use bottle water certified for sale by the New York State Department of Health. Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, washing dishes, brushing teeth and preparing food until further notice. For more information, go to randolphny.com.

Enrollment

Period Extended

The special enrollment period for uninsured New Yorkers will be extended for another 30 days through Sept. 15. New York residents can apply for coverage through NY State of Health, New York state’s health insurance marketplace, or directly through insurers. Individuals who have lost employer coverage must apply within 60 days of losing that coverage and individuals who have lost income may be eligible for Medicaid, the Essential Plan, Child Health Plus, or subsidized Qualified Health Plans. Individuals who enroll in Qualified Health Plans through NY State of Health or directly through insurers by Sept. 15 will have a choice of coverage start date either Sept. 1 or Oct. 1. Individuals who are eligible for other NY State of Health programs — Medicaid, Essential Plan and Child Health Plus — can enroll year-round. Consumers can apply for coverage through NY State of Health online at nystateofhealth.ny.gov, by calling 1-855-355-5777 and by connecting with a free enrollment assistor.

The Chautauqua County IDA and Chautauqua Region Economic Development Council meetings scheduled for today have been canceled.

Chicken

Barbecue Is Set

BEMUS POINT — The Bemus Point Volunteer Fire Department will hold a chicken barbecue take-out fundraiser on Saturday, Sept 5, from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. or until dinners are soldout at the fire hall on 13 Albertus Ave. The department will provide their chicken dinners cooked on-site on a drive-up or walk-up basis. The dinners are $11 and include sides and a bottle of water. Home-baked desserts will also be available from the Bemus Point Library’s Bake and Book Sale on Sept. 5. Those interested can preorder to reserve meals by visiting bemuspointfire.com/events.

City BPU To Meet Monday

The Jamestown Board of Public Utilities will meet via Facebook Live at 4 p.m. Monday. Members of the public may watch the meeting at facebook.com/jamestownbpu/live. Any public comments to be read or questions to be asked during the public comment period of the agenda must be received in writing by noon the day of the meeting via USPS mail or by email to the secretary of the board at sjlake@jamestownbpu.com.
