Riverfront Panel To Meet Today

The Jamestown Riverfront Management Council will meet today at 5:30 p.m. in the mayor’s conference room at the city Municipal Building. The public is welcome to atttend.

Lent Services Set For Wednesday

The Lutheran Community Midweek Lenten Services and Luncheon will continue Wednesday at noon in the Memorial Chapel of the First Lutheran Church, 120 Chandler St., Jamestown. Guest pastor leading worship will be the Rev. Timothy Hoyer, pastor of the Falconer Bethlehem Lutheran Church and the Lakewood Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. Hoyer’s meditation will be “Christ Became Obedient.” A 12:30 p.m. lunch will follow in the church parlors served by Marcia Rupp and the First Lutheran Hospitality Committee for a nominal fee. The public is welcome to attend.

Sewer Agency To Meet Thursday

FINDLEY LAKE — The Chautauqua County Sewer Agency will meet Thursday at 3 p.m. at the Mina-Findley Lake Community Center, 2883 North Road, Findley Lake. The public is welcome to attend.

School Board To

Convene Wed.

The Bemus Point School Board will hold a special meeting Wednesday at 5:15 p.m. to go into executive session for the purpose of discussing and appointing a firm to conduct a superintendent search. The meeting will be held in the Maple Grove High School cafeteria. The public is welcome to attend.

Land Bank Board Meets On Wed.

The Chautauqua County Land Bank Corporation annual and monthly board meeting will be held Wednesday at 9 a.m. in the main conference room of the Jamestown Airport. The public is welcome to attend.

Cassadaga Job Corps Sets Tours

Cassadaga Job Corps Academy will host tours and information sessions for interested applicants and their families on Thursday at 10 a.m. Cassadaga Job Corps Academy offers no-cost career training in the healthcare, construction and security industries as well as classes to prepare to take the TASC or obtain a high school diploma. Career training programs include carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting, certified nurse assistant and security. In addition, the academy also offers a Job Corps Advanced Training program for LPN, in partnership with BOCES. In order to enroll in Job Corps, applicants must be 16 to 24 years old and meet income and other guidelines, as well as demonstrate readiness to embark on a rigorous and demanding training program. Job Corps will provide the courses as well as a comprehensive career preparation curriculum to ensure graduates are ready to enter the labor market. Services for graduates include job placement assistance and transition money. To reserve a spot on a tour or to inquire about admissions, call 595-4200.

Multicultural Fair Is Set For Friday

Southwestern Elementary School is hosting its 13th annual third grade Multicultural Fair on Friday from 1:30-2:30 p.m. in the newly-expanded cafetorium. The community is invited to attend to event.
