Area Residents Could See Some Discolored Water

The Jamestown Board of Public Utilities on Wednesday said water customers in Falconer and on the north side of Jamestown could see discolored water for 12 to 24 hours. Electrical pump maintenance at the Cassadaga Water Pump Station will require turning the pumps off and on, causing water to stir and discolor.

Board To Hold Budget Session

The Cassadaga Valley Central School Board will hold a budget work session meeting Monday at 6 p.m. in the multipurpose room at the middle-high school. The school board will hold its regular meeting afterward at 7:30 p.m.

School Panel Sets Meeting

The Bemus Point School Board will meet Monday in the Maple Grove Middle-High School cafeteria. An executive session will be held at 6 p.m. followed by the regular meeting.

Quilt Guild To Meet Wednesday

The Chautauqua Region Quilt Guild will meet Wednesday at 6:45 p.m. at the Busti Federated Church. The program will be “Sewing with Quilted Placemats.” Refreshments will be served and guests are welcome.

Exercise Class Set For Wed.

“Healthy Bones” an exercise class aimed at helping to prevent osteoporosis, will begin at First Presbyterian Church in Jamestown on Wednesday. For information on how to register for the class, call 665-3054.

Smart Driver Class To Be Held At Church

LITTLE VALLEY — Little Valley United Methodist Church will be hosting an AARP six-hour Smart Driver Class on March 17 and 18 from 6-9 p.m. each evening in the church fellowship hall located at 109 Court St., Little Valley. The cost is $20 for AARP members and $25 for non-members payable by check or money order. This is the first course designed for drivers over age 50, however, drivers of all ages will benefit from attending. Class participants may be eligible for insurance premium and driver’s license points reduction. For further information or to register for the class please call 938-6247.

Greeting Card Event To Be Held At Library

SINCLAIRVILLE — The Sinclairville Free Library, 15 Main St., Sinclairville, will host an event Saturday, March 14, at 11 a.m. that will allow participants to make a greeting card. The free program is for ages 14 and up. All materials will be provided and instruction offered by volunteer Nancy Schofield. Call the library at 962-5885 to register in advance so that adequate supplies will be available. County Soil, Water Board To Meet March 18

The Chautauqua County Soil and Water Conservation District Board of Directors will meet Wednesday, March 18, at 8:30 a.m. at 220 Fluvanna Ave, Suite 600 in Jamestown. The public is welcome to attend.
