PVCS Board Meets Today

The Pine Valley Central School Board of Education will hold a special meeting tonight at 8 p.m. in the board room at the Elementary School Room 11.

JHS Wins High School Bowl

Jamestown High School defeated Clymer Central School, 83-21, in a recent Media One High School Bowl match at Jamestown Community College. Camden Austin and Veronica Hansen of Jamestown earned Player of the Match honors. Representing Jamestown were Abigail Roof, Darren Dunn, Mia Raj, Sydney Moss and Daniel Swanson. Clymer team members included Becky Sullivan, Emily Mills, Ian Dunnewold, Callie Carter, Michael TeWinkle, Hayden Battaglia, Jonathan Simpkins and Jacob Murphy.

Blood Drive Is Set For March 12

The American Red Cross will hold a blood drive from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m. March 12 at the chapter offices, 325 E. Fourth St., Jamestown. For more information, download the American Red Cross Blood Donor App at www.redcrossblood.org/blood-donor-app.html, visit RedCrossBlood.org, call 800-733-2767 or enable the Blood Donor Skill on any Alexa Echo device to make an appointment or for more information. All blood types are needed to ensure a reliable supply for patients. A blood donor card or driver’s license or two other forms of identification are required at check-in. Individuals who are 17 years of age in most states (16 with parental consent where allowed by state law), weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood. High school students and other donors 18 years of age and younger also have to meet certain height and weight requirements.

Nursing Program Tests Are Set

ASHVILLE — The E2CCB Practical Nursing program is holding ACCUPLACER testing every Monday in March. Tests, required for entry into the program, will take place at 10 a.m. at the Hewes Educational Center, 2615 N. Maple St., Ashville inside A-building. Caregiver Talk To Be Held

SINCLAIRVILLE — The fourth annual Chautauqua Opportunities Inc. Alzheimer’s Services Caregiver Conference will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 20 at Park United Methodist Church in Sinclairville. Service providers will discuss services they can offer caregivers. Speakers from the Center for Excellence of Alzheimer’s Disease from the University of Buffalo, Senior Life Matters, Adult Day Services and the Center for Elder Law and Justice to share information on such topics as the diagnosis of Alzheimer’s and what to do, memory and behavioral issues, insurance needs, when to and how to keep seniors in their homes. Workshop Will Be Held March 23

In collaboration with the Christ Chapel Wesleyan Church, Prevention Works Inc. will be providing a “PAX Tools” workshop on March 23. The workshop will take place at the Christ Chapel Wesleyan Church, 64 Buffalo St., Silver Creek, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. To register, call Barb Hauck at 934-3725.

PAX Tools is intended for adults who interact with children, such as parents, caregivers, professionals and volunteers. Caregivers who participate in PAX Tools trainings will receive access to the PAX Tools resources, including the PAX Tools App. Registration is required.
