Hero Nominations Due March 2

Nominations for the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation’s Unsung Hero Award are due March 2. This award annually recognizes individuals making a difference in the community. Forms are available at crcfonline.org/unsunghero or by contacting Sarah Shelters at 661-3390 or sshelters@crcfonline.org.

SWCS Board Set To Meet Tues.

The Southwestern Central School Board will hold a work session meeting Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the board of education room. The public is welcome to attend.

Mobile Pantry To Be In Ashville

ASHVILLE — The Food Bank of Western New York Mobile Pantry Truck from Buffalo will be at the Ashville United Methodist Church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. to noon and 3 to 5 p.m. The truck brings fresh produce and some staple items. To receive free food, proof of address from the following ZIP codes is required: Ashville 14710, Bemus Point 14712, Celoron 14720, Lakewood 14750, Niobe 14758, Panama 14767, Stow 14785 and anyone who lives in the town of Busti. UPMC Is Seeking Volunteers

UPMC Chautauqua is looking for volunteers in the Gift Shop and at the Information Desk. Those who volunteer at the desk help direct visitors and outpatients, deliver flowers and cards and answer questions over the phone. Those who volunteer in the Gift Shop work the cash register and keep the merchandise displayed neatly. Volunteers usually work three hours a day, once a week. Training is provided. JPS Board Of Education To Meet

The Jamestown Public Schools Board of Education will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the board room at 197 Martin Road. The public is welcome to attend.

Library Book Sale Set March 5

The Prendergast Library will hold its quarterly half-off book sale starting Thursday, March 5, through Saturday, March 7, open during regular library hours. All books are half off during the quarterly sale. Adult hardcovers are $1, adult paperbacks are 50 cents and all children’s books are 50 cents. Bags of books can be filled for $10 with the library providing the bags. The library’s regular book sale is ongoing and is open during all library hours. During the regular sale, hardcovers are $2 and paperbacks are $1. The library is open at 10 a.m. Monday through Saturday. Closing time is 8:30 Monday through Thursday, 5 p.m. Friday and 4 p.m. Saturday. The Prendergast Library is located at 509 Cherry St., Jamestown. BP School Board To Hold Meeting

The Bemus Point School Board will hold a special meeting on Wednesday at 5 p.m. in the superintendent’s office at Maple Grove Middle-High School on Dutch Hollow Road, Bemus Point. The board will be adjourning to executive session to discuss particular personnel and negotiations.
