BOE Sets Special Meeting Tuesday

The Jamestown Public Schools Board of Education will hold a special meeting Tuesday in the superintendent’s conference room at 7:15 a.m.

Friday Is The Last Day To Change Party Affiliation

The Chautauqua County Board of Elections announced that Friday is the last day to change party affiliation in order to vote in the April 28 Democratic presidential primary. Most can register to vote in New York online or change a party registration or address at dmv.ny.gov. A New York state driver’s license or DMV ID is required. Others can download a voter registration form at votechautauqua.com or pick one up at local libraries, municipal building or post officers. The 2020 presidential primary will be 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. April 28, with early voting April 18-26 at the Chautauqua Mall, County Fairgrounds or at the Mayville elections office. For the presidential primary, the last day for new voters to register to vote is April 3. The last day to apply by mail for an absentee ballot is April 21.

Historical Society Board To Meet

FREWSBURG — The Carroll Historical Society board will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday at its facility located behind the Carroll Town Hall. Discussion on an open house and recent projects will be discussed. Also Bob Johnson will discuss the Park Avenue investment. Board members are asked to attend. All board and regular meetings are open to the public.

Blood Drive Set On JCC Campus

The Community Blood Bank of NWPA & WNY will host a blood drive from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday in the Jamestown Community College Fitness Center. Individuals are eligible to give blood if it has been 56 days since their last donation; they are at least 17 years of age (16 with parental consent); weigh at least 110 pounds; have not received a tattoo or body piercing in the past 12 months; are in good general health and do not have a cold or the flu. Donors must have a valid photo ID in order to donate. Prior to donating, those giving blood should eat a good, solid meal and drink at least 18 oz. of water. SWCS Board Set To Meet Tuesday

The Southwestern Central School Board of Education will meet Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the board of education room. The public is welcome to attend.

Fire System Water Testing Is Thurs.

Jamestown Board of Public Utilities Water Division officials said water customers in Celoron and west toward Lakewood, Cottage Park and beyond could see discolored water on Thursday, especially between 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Owners of a warehouse at 101 Jackson Ave., Celoron, have alerted the BPU that quarterly fire system water testing will take place at the facility. Once discolored, water could take 12 to 24 hours to clear. BPU water customers in the Celoron area avoid doing laundry until their water appears clear.

Sewer Districts To Meet Friday

The Personnel Committee of the South and Center Chautauqua Lake Sewer Districts will meet Friday at the water pollution control facility from 9:30-10 a.m. The public is welcome to attend.
