Job Corps To Hold Tours

Cassadaga Job Corps Academy will host tours and information sessions for interested applicants and their families Thursday at 10 a.m. Cassadaga Job Corps Academy offers no-cost career training in the healthcare, construction and security industries as well as classes to prepare to take the TASC or obtain a high school diploma. In order to enroll in Job Corps, applicants must be 16-24 years old and meet income and other guidelines, as well as demonstrate readiness to embark on a rigorous and demanding training program. Job Corps will provide the courses described above, as well as a comprehensive career preparation curriculum to ensure graduates are ready to enter the labor market. Boys, Girls Club Open Monday

The Winifred Crawford Dibert Boys and Girls Club will be open for all youth on Monday for the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. Hours at the club for youth members are noon-4:45 p.m. All program areas will be open and there will be lunch and an afternoon snack. Free swim will be from 12:30-4:30. Youth members can attend at no charge while non-members are $1/day. The club pool, gym and weight room will be open for adult members from 7 a.m. to noon. There are no adult or youth classes, lessons or sports on Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Fire And Ice Ball Is Scheuled

CELORON — The Chautauqua Harbor Hotel will host its Fire & Ice Ball from 5 to 9 p.m. Feb. 13-15 to raise money for the Child Advocacy Program of Chautauqua County. The event includes more than 20,000 pounds of ice carved into ice sculptures, martini luges and fully-stocked bars punctuated by roaring fire pits. There will also be live music, hors d’oeuvres and cocktails. The evening ends with a fireworks display. No one under 21 years of age will be admitted. Tickets are $25 a person and are available at brownpapertickets.com. For more information, call 489-2800.

SWCS Board To Meet Today

The Southwestern Central School Board of Education will meet today at 7 p.m. in the board of education room. The public is welcome to attend.

School Boards Set Joint Meeting

RIPLEY — A joint meeting between the Ripley Central School and Chautauqua Lake Central school boards will be held Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. in the Ripley Central School District’s IRLA Library (room 204). The regular meeting of the Ripley School Board will begin immediately following the joint meeting. The public is welcome to attend.

JPS Board To Hold Meeting

The Jamestown Public Schools Board of Education will meet today at 6 p.m. in the auditorium at Persell Middle School, 375 Baker St. The public is welcome to attend.

Soil, Water Board To Meet Wed.

The Chautauqua County Soil and Water Conservation District Board of Directors will meet Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. at 220 Fluvanna Ave., Suite 600, Jamestown. The public is welcome to attend.
