Winterguard To Hold Fundraiser

The Jamestown High School Winterguard will hold a fundraiser today from 7-10 p.m. in the high school auditorium. The fundraiser, initiated by JHS custodian Lee Boyd and teacher Kaitlyn Marsh, will include bands, It Takes Two, Arsenal, Muttnik and Slow Motion Breakdown. Tickets are $8 available from any Winterguard participant or instructor and will also be available at the door.

Blood Drive To Be Held Monday

CONEWANGO VALLEY — An American Red Cross blood drive will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 13, at the Conewango Fire Hall, 12447 Northeast Road. The American Red Cross currently has a critical need for blood donors of all blood types – especially type O. To make an appointment, use the Red Cross Blood Donor App at www.redcrossblood.org/blood-donor-app.html, visit RedCrossBlood.org or call 800-733-2767. A blood donor card or driver’s license or two other forms of identification are required at check-in. Individuals who are 17 years of age in most states (16 with parental consent where allowed by state law), weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood. High school students and other donors 18 years of age and younger also have to meet certain height and weight requirements.

Panama School Board To Meet

PANAMA — The Panama Central School Board will meet Monday at 7 p.m. in the board room. The public is welcome to attend.

Library To Host Presentation

Myers Memorial Library in Frewsburg will host an hourlong presentation on the power of a plant-based prescription for weight loss and vibrant health, presented by Deborah Chielli. The free program will take place on Saturday, Jan. 25, at 2 p.m. Food samples and lists of additional resources and educational materials will be provided. For more information, call 569-5515.

Support Group Meets Jan. 18

The Chautauqua Region Multiple Sclerosis Rap Group will meet from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, in classroom 2 at UPMC Chautauqua, 207 Foote Ave., Jamestown. The support group is semi-structured. Snacks are provided. Those affected by the disease, including family and friends, are welcomg to attend. For more information, call Debbie Lane at 962-9401.

Golden Agers

To Install Officers

The Lakewood Busti Golden Agers met in December for a cookie party. Entertainment was provided by the Southwestern Central School fifth grade chorus. The next meeting of the group will be Tuesday, Jan. 21, at 1 p.m. at the Lakewood American Legion on Chautauqua Avenue. New officers will be installed. They include: Sharon Mccreary, president; Connie Whitman, vice president; Cindy Decker, secretary; and Fran Stahley, treasurer. Members must sign up for the Feb. 3 Rod & Gun dinner at the meeting. Library Board To Meet Wednesday

BEMUS POINT — The Bemus Point Library Board will meet Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. in the library. The public is welcome to attend.
