Downtown May See Discolored Water Today

The Jamestown Board of Public Utilities is letting the public know that, as a result of contractor work on the Harrison Street bridge project this morning, there could be discolored water downtown and west for between 12 and 24 hours.

Magnolia UM To Hold Candlelight Service Sunday

STOW — A Christmas candlelight communion service will be held at the Magnolia United Methodist Church on Sunday, at 6 p.m. The church is located at 3969 Route 394, north of Stow. Morning worship will be held at 11 a.m. with Pastor John Bowen bringing the message titled “Today the Savior Has Been Born to You.” Advent Bible study is at 9:45 a.m. The public is invited to all of the services.

Christmas Cantata To Be Presented

STOCKTON — The Stockton Community Church choir, 4554 West Railroad Ave., Stockton, will present the Christmas cantata, “Sing Christmas,” Sunday at the 11 a.m. worship service. The public is invited to attend.

County Offices To Close Early On Dec. 24

Acting Chautauqua County Executive Stephen Abdella has announced that many Chautauqua County government offices will be closing early to the public on Christmas Eve. On Dec. 24, the County Clerk’s Office, including the Department of Motor Vehicles, will be closing at 1 p.m.; a majority of county departments will be closing at 2:30 p.m.; and the South and Center Chautauqua Lake Sewer Districts will be closing at 3 p.m. The early closure will not affect essential services, including Chautauqua County Department of Public Facilities divisions such as the airports and parks, CARTS, highway, and landfill and transfer stations will operate as usual.

Dementia Movie To Be Shown At Library Jan. 7

Chautauqua Opportunities Inc.’s Alzheimer’s Services, along with the Office of the Aging and Long Term Care Council’s Dementia Friendly Action Team, will be showing a movie, “Love is Listening, Dementia Without Loneliness,” on Jan. 7 at 6 p.m. at the Dunkirk Public Library, 536 Central Ave., Dunkirk. Randolph BOE Meeting Moved To Monday

RANDOLPH — The Randolph Central School District Board of Education meeting has been rescheduled to Monday at 7 a.m. in the Randolph High School library. The public is welcome to attend.

Fenton History Center To Close For Holidays

The Fenton History Center will be closed on Tuesday and Wednesday, Dec. 24-25, and Tuesday and Wednesday, Dec. 31 and Jan. 1.

Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser Jan. 4

LAKEWOOD — Applebee’s Restaurant in Lakewood will host a pancake breakfast fundraiser to benefit the Falconer Central School Class of 2020 from 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 4. The cost is $4 a person.
