Christmas Bazaar To Be Held Friday

The Alter and Rosary Society of St. Mary of Lourdes in Mayville will be holding their annual Christmas Bazaar and Luncheon on Friday, Dec. 13 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The luncheon will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.. prepared by the ladies of the parish and will feature chicken and biscuits, cranberry sauce, home made pies and a beverage. Takeouts will be available by calling 753-2318. The cost per meal is $10. The society invites everyone to browse the Cookie House where home made Christmas cookies will be available. Grandma’s Attic will again be part of the day, featuring new and old treasures including books, glassware, holiday decorations and so much more. The youth of the parish will also have a booth selling baked goods and gifts. Proceeds from the luncheon and bazaar will benefit future church activities and projects.

Cassadaga Group To Meet Today

CASSADAGA — The Citizens for a Better Cassadaga will meet today at 7 p.m. at the Cassadaga Library. Plans for the Winter Festival which will take place on Feb. 8 and Feb. 9 will be discussed. All area residents are encouraged to attend.

Book Signing To Be Held Saturday

LAKEWOOD — Kim Rambacher, author of “Miracle Marcia,” will hold a book signing at Off The Beaten Path bookstore Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Rambacher’s work follows his wife’s 17-year battle with breast cancer. Proceeds from book sales will go toward Chautauqua County Hospice, the Maple Grove High school’s Miracle Marcia scholarship and Pastor Clyde Mohl’s retirement.

Third Friday Dance Is Dec. 20

The Jamestown Community Third Friday Dance will meet for a festive holiday dance on Friday, Dec. 20, from 7 to 9:30 p.m. at Tree of Life Lutheran Church, 825 Forest Ave., Jamestown. All dances are taught and no partner is necessary. Admission is $5. This will be a festive event with Christmas music, punch and cookies.

Zoning Board Seeks To Fill Vacant Position

STOW — The town of North Harmony is seeking to fill a position on the town’s Zoning Board of Appeals. Those interested must be a resident of the town. KIANTONE — The Kiantone Town Board will meet at 7 p.m. today in the Kiantone Town Hall. The public is welcome to attend.

Blue Christmas Service To Be Held Dec. 19

WESTFIELD — St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 162 N. Portage St., Westfield, will host a Blue Christmas service at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19. Christmas may not be “the most wonderful time of the year” for those experiencing loss or who are struggling with illness, depression or addiction. For people journeying with sorrow as a companion, along with family members and friends, the church offers a time of quiet contemplation, candlelight, music and prayers.
