Gift Wrapping Event Saturday

ERA Team VP Real Estate & Vacation Rentals, 23 E. Third St., Jamestown, will be offering holiday gift wrapping Saturday, Dec. 14, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event is free, though donations will be accepted for the Child Advocacy Program. “We were looking for a fun, unique way to help our community this holiday season,” said Bill Soffel, owner of ERA Team VP. “Not only does this alleviate stress of gift wrapping for many families, but it’s also an opportunity to raise money for a very important program in our community and we’re excited to be able to contribute.”

Ellery Senior Citizens To Meet

Ellery Senior Citizens met in November at St. Timothy Lutheran Church and enjoyed a harvest dinner. Rita and Bob Garretson and Miriam Price served on the Kitchen Committee. President Marty Hunt opened the business meeting with the flag salute led by Moe Stowell and Jan Stowell led devotions. Hunt, Betty Lou Cheney and Garretson celebrated birthdays. Proposed changes to the bylaws and the new slate of officers for 2020 were read and will be voted on at the business meeting, Friday, Dec. 13. A Christmas dinner catered by Debbie Stearns of Classic Occasions, will be served promptly at 12:30 p.m. Kitchen Committee will be Gene and Lois Norris and Hunt. Chautauqua Shores Chorus will provide music for the season, barbershop-style. There will be no January meeting.

Parish To Offer Christmas Program Sunday

Holy Apostles Parish is offering a Christmas program on Sunday, Dec. 15, at 3 p.m. at St. John’s Church. Children from the Faith Formation program will present the “Christmas Story.” Audience members can join in singing traditional Christmas carols. There will be a cookie and punch reception following the program in the church hall. All our welcome to attend.

Infinity To Hold Breakfast Event

Infinity Visual and Performing Arts Inc. will be holding a pancake breakfast with Santa at Lakewood’s Neighborhood Applebee’s located on Fairmount Avenue on Saturday, Dec. 14, from 8-10 a.m. Tickets are $6 each, and include all you can eat pancakes, bacon and beverages. Tickets can be purchased at the Infinity Center, online or at the door on event day. All proceeds support music and arts instruction for area youth at the Infinity Center in Jamestown.

Living Nativity Scene Dates Set

On Saturday, Dec. 14, and Sunday, Dec. 15, Our Lady of Loreto Church, 309 W. Everett St., Falconer, will host its living nativity scene, presented by the youth of the parish from 7 to 8 p.m. There will be caroling and a candlelight ceremony. Organizers ask those attending to bring a non-perishable food item for the food bank and/or Items for the local pet rescue. Both of which will be collected. After the performances families are welcome to take family Christmas pictures at the manger.

IDA Board To Meet Tuesday

The Chautauqua County Industrial Development Agency Board of Directors will meet Tuesday, Dec. 17, at 10 a.m. at the main lodge of Cockaigne Resort, 1493 Thornton Road, Cherry Creek. The Governance Committee will meet at 9:30 a.m. The public is welcome to attend.
