St. Luke’s To Hold Cookie Sale

The Bishop Overs Guild of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church will be holding its second annual cookie sale in the remaining days of the month of November. Pre-Orders paid for in advance must be made by Nov. 30. Order forms can be obtained be obtained from any member of the Bishop Overs guild, or by calling the church office at 483-6405. Cookies are all fresh and homemade by St. Luke’s bakers, and packaged in a sturdy freezable container. Small trays (about two dozen cookies) cost $20, large trays (about four dozen cookies) are $35. Small trays of gluten-free cookies will also be available for $20. Assortments will be available for pick up Dec. 7-8 from 9 a.m. to noon in the church undercroft.

Boys & Girls Club Closed For Holiday

The Winifred Crawford Dibert Boys & Girls Club will be open regular hours today and Tuesday. There will be no swimming all week due to a lighting replacement project. The club will be open on Wednesday for youth. All program areas will be open except the pool. The club will not be open on Wednesday evening. Youth members may attend at no charge while non-members pay $1 a day. The club will be closed on Thursday through Saturday.

Reed Announces Loan, Grant For Town Of Dunkirk

U.S. Rep. Tom Reed, R-Corning, announced a $117,000 grant and a $116,000 loan for the town of Dunkirk. The funds will be used to improve the water distribution system in the Bennett Road water district. The project will improve water service to 44 residential users and 13 non-residential users in the town by replacing about 10,000 linear feet of water lines as well as hydrants and valves. The grant was approved by the USDA. According to the Chautauqua County Department of Health, the existing system has low water pressure, which is a health concern. With the completion of this project, those issues will be addressed.

Car Club Set To Donate Gifts

The Los Contrincantes Car Club of Jamestown will be donating Christmas gifts to all enrolled students grades K-fourth grade at the Eastside YMCA in Jamestown on Thursday, Dec. 19 from 4:30-6 p.m. Over 30 Christmas gifts will be giving as part of the Los Contrincantes First Annual Christmas Gift Giveaway. The car club will also bring Santa With to give out gifts.

SWCS Board To Meet Tuesday

The Southwestern Central School Board of Education will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the board room. The public is welcome to attend.

RTPI To Hold Architecture Tour

The Roger Tory Peterson Institute will host a unique architecture tour of the institute at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1, as part of Museum Store Sunday. Led by docent and former architect Marlin Casker, those attending will explore the historical, cultural and artistic details and significance of RTPI’s headquarters building. Tour space is limited. Open House Set To Be Held Dec. 9

The fourth annual meeting and open house for Cornell Cooperative Extension of Cattaraugus County will be held Dec. 9 from 6-8 p.m. at 28 Parkside Drive, Ellicottville. The public is welcome to attend.
