Association To Seek Proposals

SALAMANCA — The Cattaraugus County Living Arts Association is seeking proposals from directors for productions to be held this spring and summer at the Ray Evans Seneca Theater, 10 Main St., Salamanca. Directors who want to propose a production, budget and schedule are asked to send that information to the association by Jan. 1 to the Cattaraugus County Living Arts Association, 10 Main St., Salamanca. In addition, the association is asking for the community’s help with the theater’s needs including lights, sound, stage crew, set construction, costumes and fundraising. School To Host 5-Hour Course

FREWSBURG — A five-hour, pre-licensing driving course will be held at Frewsburg High School on Monday, Dec. 9, from 5-10 p.m. The cost is $25. Pre-register by calling the guidance office at 569-7026 between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Church Craft Time Tuesday

KENNEDY — Community craft time at Kennedy First United Methodist Church will be held Tuesday from 10 a.m. to noon upstairs in the adult Sunday school room. Those attending can work on an individual project or visit during the social time. Craft time is open to all adults. For more information, call the church office at 267-2645. The church is located at the corner of Church and Second streets, Kennedy, and is handicap-accessible through the lower side door.

Host Pie Social

The North Harmony United Methodist Church is hosting an open house pie social at the church on Sunday from 1-4 p.m. in the church fellowship hall. There will be games for children, Christmas crafts to make and take home and pie and coffee to enjoy. The church is located at 6814 Sherman-Stedman Road. Board Passes 2020 Budget

COLDSPRING — The Coldspring Town Board adopted its 2020 budget at a meeting Nov. 7. The budget was approved unanimously following a brief public hearing. The tax levy, the amount to be raised by taxes, is set at $177,288 next year. The tax rate for town residents will be $2.62 per $1,000 assessed valuation. Town Supervisor Tina Hyde noted that Coldspring does not have a Democratic chairman to help those considering running for a town position. Those interested in becoming the chairman is asked to contact the Cattaraugus County Board of Elections in Little Valley. The Democratic Party uses petitions to nominate individuals for offices in the town. The Republican Party holds a caucus to nominate individuals for offices in the town. The board next meets Dec. 5.

Society To Hold ‘Season Of Hope’

The Chautauqua County Humane Society will hold a “Season of Hope” open house at its adoption center, 2825 Strunk Road, Jamestown, on Saturday, Dec. 7, from noon-3 p.m. Photographs with Santa will be available for a $10 donation. Photos will be emailed to each donor along with the opportunity to purchase prints. The Season of Hope adoption drive runs from Nov. 29 to Dec. 23.
