Historical Society To Meet Tuesday

BLOCKVILLE — The Harmony Historical Society program meeting will be Tuesday at the museum campus in Blockville on Open Meadows Road. Dinner will be at 6 p.m. with the program following at 7 p.m. The holiday party will be held Dec. 3 with details to be announced later. On Tuesday, Chautauqua Lake steamboats is the topic of the program presented by Norman Carlson. He will be talking about North Harmony’s Naval Commander William C. Ball and will also present a different look at Chautauqua Lake’s steamboats followed by some photos of the boats. Those attending are asked to bring a dish to pass and table service for the dinner. The public is invited to attend.

Red Cross To Host Programs

ELLINGTON — In partnership with New York state, the American Red Cross is offering two free programs at the Ellington Farman Library, 760 Thornton Road, on Tuesday, Dec. 3. A hands-only CPR class for adults will be given from 3-4 p.m. The “Pillowcase Project” will be offered to students in third through sixth grades from 4-5 p.m. The training teaches kids how best to prepare for and stay safe when a natural hazard becomes an emergency. Antique Auto Club Set To Meet

The Antique Auto Club will hold its monthly meeting Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the War Vets Recreation Club on Fluvanna Avenue. New members with or without an antique car are welcome. For more information, call 287-3754.

Falconer UM To Host Craft Bazaar

FALCONER — The Falconer United Methodist Church, located at the corner of North Work and James streets, will host a craft bazaar and bake sale in the church basement Saturday, Nov. 23, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. A soup and sandwich lunch will be available from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. There is no charge for lunch, but donations will be accepted.

Library To Hold Book Sale

The James Prendergast Library will hold its quarterly half-off book sale starting Thursday, Dec. 5. The event will run through Saturday, Dec. 7. The book sale is open during regular library hours. All books are half off during the quarterly sale. Adult hardcovers are $1, adult paperbacks are 50 cents and all children’s books are 50 cents. Bags of books can be filled for $10; the library provides the bags. The library’s regular book sale is ongoing and is open during all library hours. During the regular sale, hardcovers are $2 and paperbacks are $1. The library is open at 10 a.m. Monday through Saturday. Closing time is 8:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 5 p.m. Friday and 4 p.m. Saturday. The Prendergast Library is located at 509 Cherry St., Jamestown. Thule Lodge To Meet Thursday

FALCONER — The Thule Lodge will meet Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Falcon’s Nest in Falconer. A business meeting will be held first, and then Thanksgiving refreshments will be served. Alan Peterson of Peterson Farms provided the winter squash at the Harvest dinner held last month. New members are welcome to join.
