YMCA To Host Babysitting Clinic

The Jamestown YMCA will host a babysitting clinic for boys and girls, ages 11-16 on Monday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Y. The clinic will instruct participants about the responsibilities involved in caring for younger children including child development, safety and emergency response. The clinic is taught by experienced instructors who have knowledge in child development, health and overall care of children. Participants should bring a bag lunch. Registrations cannot be taken over the phone but can be made at the YMCA Welcome Center.

Ellery Senior Citizens To Meet

Ellery Senior Citizens met recently at St. Timothy Lutheran Church. A tureen dinner was enjoyed by all, and Betty Lou Cheney and Becky Sheesley were the Kitchen Committee. President Marty Hunt led the business meeting which opened with the flag salute led by Paul Mazzone. Jan Stowell presented devotions and spoke about God’s provisions for all our needs, even those we don’t know about. Rita Garretson, Paul Mazzone and Matt Isaacson celebrated birthdays. The next meeting will be Friday at noon, with a Harvest Dinner catered by Debbie Stearns of Classic Occasions, served promptly at 12:30 p.m. which will include turkey, gravy and stuffing. The Kitchen Committee will be Rita and Bob Garretson and Miriam Price. Members should bring a dish to pass and table service.

Spaghetti Dinner To Be Held Sat.

The Marco Polo Club, 1027 E. Second St., Jamestown, will host a spaghetti dinner Saturday from 4-7 p.m. The public is welcome to attend, and carryouts will be available. The cost is $9 for adults and $5 for children.

Ross Grange To Meet Monday

Ross Grange will meet Monday with a Veterans Day program. This is a change from originally planned. The meeting and program will be preceded by a dish to pass meal at 6 p.m. at the Falcon’s Nest Banquet Hall. Beverages and table service will be furnished. Betty Wakefield is hostess for the meal. All interested are invited.

Community Craft Time Set Tuesday

KENNEDY — Community Craft Time at Kennedy First United Methodist Church will be held Tuesday, Nov. 12, from 10 a.m. to noon upstairs in the adult Sunday School room. For more information, call the church office at 267-2645. The church is located at the corner of Church and Second street in Kennedy and is handicap accessible through the lower side door.

Donation Drive Being Held

Silvertree Seniors of Jamestown is holding a drive for donations of new hats, mittens and school supplies to benefit Jamestown Public Schools. Donations may be made between Nov. 12 and Nov. 26 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Carlson Towers, 842 N. Main St., Jamestown. For more information, call 489-2303, ext. 8.

Land Bank Corp. Meeting Set Wed.

The Chautauqua County Land Bank Corp. will meet Wednesday, Nov. 13, at the Fredonia Tech Incubator, 214 Central Ave., Dunkirk. The Acquisition/ Disposition Committee will meet prior at 8:30 a.m. The public is welcome to attend.
